Speech Therapy The speech therapy department specializes in the assessment and treatment of speech and language disorders. These disorders include developmental speech delays, receptive speech disorders, expressive speech disorders, phonological processing disorders, stuttering, dysfluencies in speech, audiological deficits, dysphasias (speech deficits), dysphagia (eating deficits), and other oral motor conditions. Occupational Therapy The occupational therapy department specializes in the assessment and treatment of abnormal reflexes, cognitive deficits, abnormal muscle tone, sensory processing disorders, orthopedic conditions of the upper extremities, contractures of joints, burns, difficulties with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and impairments with fine motor function. Physical Therapy The physical therapy department specializes in the assessment and treatment of abnormal reflexes, sitting and positioning deficits, gross motor deficits, contractures of joints, burns, abnormal muscle tone, functional mobility impairments, gait pattern impairments, and orthopedic conditions of the lower extremities. Aquatic Therapy The aquatic therapy department specializes in the treatment of conditions using the principles of hydrodynamics and buoyancy to facilitate healing, strengthening, and endurance. The aquatic team consists of fully licensed personnel. Nutritional Counseling The dietetics department specializes in the assessment and treatment of patients with nutritional disorders/conditions. The dieticians strive to educate patients and families on healthy eating. With the assistance of the physician, our dietician coordinates, plans, and prescribes medical nutrition therapy for patients with certain diagnosis and conditions. The dieticians educate families/patients on nutrition principles, food selection and preparation. Social Services The social services department specializes in assisting clients with socioeconomic and psychosocial issues that may interfere with completing the prescribed treatment regimen established by the rehabilitation team. Our social services staff may make a home visits to determine further needs. All of our patients are questioned and screened for the potential need for social services. Physician Services The medical director provides our clients with medical services and consultation as needed. The medical director assists with establishing and implementing client care policies. Our team of professionals meets weekly for client case conference to review all active patients. This meeting is conducted with our medical director to discuss patient progress and the appropriateness of care. Screenings Any person may call our offices to set up a free screening if they feel that their child may benefit from any of our services.
